Greetings fellow snow addicts
I am taking my two neices (5 and 7 year olds) skiing for the first time (them not me obviously) in Easter 08.
Where is good for rug rats that haven't hardly ever seen snow let alone stand on two planks and cruise down mountains on them.
Quick transfers, ideally ski to from accom.
Had thought about Tremblant but flight probably far too long for them

La Rosier is supposed to be THE place but to be honest, anywhere with a ski school will get them going.
I'd recomend taking them on a course of lessons at Xscape or any other indoor snowdome. We did it with our sone who was 3 & 1/2 at the time and he can now negotiate blues and shallow reds. That said we had 2 weeks in Switzerland.
One thing to think of is the accomodation (as you said) being as close to the slopes as possible because they wont be able to negotiate their way back through a few paths etc for a good few days. We were slightly mislead as the website stated a 5-10 minuet walk to the gondola, which in real terms was a 0.9 mile trip uphill, we were lucky as we'd driven over.
Trying to do that with kids is a nightmare.
Tips for the slopes, make sure the younger ones go to the loo as often as you can, take lots of mini chocolate bars (mars, snickers etc) for the lifts and expect them to crash out as soon as you get back to the chalet.
Have fun, It really is worth it.

Cheers for that
Slight problem with snowdome - they live Enfield and Milton Keynes is a bit of a treck for their little legs + I want it to be a suprise for them.
Good hint about the mini mars bars etc problem will be stopping myself scoffing them (Rich - no need to get nasty !)

I skied Val Morel quite a few years back ( I was about 14) and remember it being fairly easy skiing. Accomodation was fairly close to the slopes too. The second time we took our daughter was to Risoul and stayed HERE!. Excellent slopeside location, ski school is a 50 yard downhillski/walk.

Yes, I stayed in those apartments in Risoul some years ago. You don't get much better ski to and from your door than that !

The little feller is starting school in september and is on half days for the first 2 weeks. I feel an outing to Xscape for an hour coming on. Only in the interests of getting him back on the snow you understand......

Well, yesterday was the 1st time since march the little man hit the slopes at Xscape in castleford.
After a few ropey runs, quite a lot of falling, a suprisingly small ammount of moaning he was back to his old(headed) self, weaving his way down the piste.
And on another note I got told off for hitting the kickers without wearing a helmet.
